Play day on Sunday. I took the camera out and took photos of many of the horses playing around. I went into Rory's paddock and took some of him too, and the pregnant (two weeks overdue - finally foaled last night) mare. Rory came over to see what I was doing and for scritches.
Later I went and got Rory for his walk. We went out into the arena while a couple of other horses were working and wandered about. We stopped, and turned and backed up and trotted over poles and jumped a tiny X (yep, me too!). I stood near the middle of a cavaletti (on lowest height) and sent Rory in a little circle around one end of the cavaletti, then round the other end. He wasn't sure about it at first, but got the idea quickly. He was a little pushy (trying to walk past me) while I was collecting his poops, but after a couple of corrections behaved himself. When we came out my BO was digging a ditch with the mini backhoe and Rory bugged his eyes out at it and tried to leave the vicinity. I brought him back to the arena door and started our walk back to the paddock again. He was "up" but behaved. Rory whinnied for TOW as we got close. TOW hadn't even really noticed Rory was gone! After carrots and more scritches I made my escape.
